I think that what I miss the most is the simplicity of life. It wasn't easy, no, it never felt easy. But it sure did feel simple. And it felt right. You didn't have to worry about what you'd wear or where you'd go or what you'd eat or who you'd see or what sort of place you'd sleep in...

ITS OFFICIAL!
Anyone who has been reading here for any duration is probably sick of all the plans I make that either fall through, or that I don't follow up on. Today is the day I finally write about something that is certainly, definitely, beyond the shadow of a doubt HAPPENING. WE BOUGHT FLIGHTS FOR THE CAMINO! My sister… Continue reading ITS OFFICIAL!
November 5th
I'm on Skype with my sister but she went to the bathroom. The smoke alarm in my apartment just went off because my roommate Christopher is trying to cook himself some hot dogs. We turned the air conditioner off this morning and have all the windows and doors open letting the not-quite-cool-but-at-least-not-hot-breeze in. I think… Continue reading November 5th
November 4th
It's going to happen. I've been pricing tickets and getting in good shape and it's going to happen. I'm talking about the Camino de Santiago of course. I've probably mentioned it a billion times, and thought about it twice as much, but I think it's finally happening. My sister and I are going, and we… Continue reading November 4th
Stir Crazy: a way of life
It would probably be fair to start considering "stir crazy" to be my resting state. I'm not saying it's comfortable, but it's pretty damn familiar. I am restless and full of anticipation, even when there's nothing on the horizon. It isn't the anxious sort of stir crazy, not yet at least, not this time. This… Continue reading Stir Crazy: a way of life
Everything In Its Turn
As one who is by nature quiet and reclusive, I shock even myself when I say with all sincerity: I am ready to socialize. They say to everything there is a season, and the season is upon us. In high school I was thrust into throngs of my peers, who instead of feeling pressured to… Continue reading Everything In Its Turn
A Travel Update
Since I am on the road I thought maybe an update is in order. I left New Hampshire and drove through Canada to Michigan to drop my little sisters at their mom's house. Then I set off again and spent last night at my best friend's apartment in DC. I was going to set off… Continue reading A Travel Update
So Much To Do, So Little Time…
Well, my summer is over. I mean technically the season of summer doesn't begin until tomorrow, but all of my time has been spoken for, and I won't get but a minute to breathe. This week I am in Michigan doing training at Hillsdale College so that I can be on the same page as… Continue reading So Much To Do, So Little Time…
Rocks, Roadtrips, and the Realm in Between
You could say I'm addicted to road trips and you wouldn't be wrong. I think I must truly be a nomad at heart, and I've never been more okay with embracing a label than that. I think the technical definition of nomad is: a member of a people having no permanent abode, and who travel from… Continue reading Rocks, Roadtrips, and the Realm in Between
The Unforeseeable Future
Have you ever delved so deep into your personal plans for the future that you forget that you don't have a clue what your life will be like? I've been on a steady roll doing exactly that for almost a year now, and I desperately need to snap out of it. All of my life… Continue reading The Unforeseeable Future
