Merry Christmas

We live in a world where things come first and people come second. Every once in a while we get things right and put back in order, and do things the right way.

I didn’t get to see the majority of my family for Christmas this year, which is fairly common for us, but was particularly disappointing this time because the opportunity was there, but due to superfluous custody arrangements with my younger siblings, they weren’t allowed to visit. It made me realize that I’m a pretty shitty people person the rest of the year. It was crushing to be told I couldn’t see them, but do I keep in touch well the rest of the year? Nope. I’m the worst at keeping in touch.

I will get another chance to see some of them though, and I’m exceedingly grateful for that. Jefferson and I will be flying out to Idaho next week to visit some of them. He has met all my sisters but he has yet to meet any of my brothers. It’s been over a year now since I’ve even seen my brothers, so it’s gonna be a pretty interesting week out there. Two of my brothers and two sisters live there, and two others will be visiting the same week as us, so it’ll be a party generally speaking. I’m very grateful that’s coming in the next week.

So all in all, I guess the holidays are pretty alright. I’ve never been a Christmassy person, but I’m glad to be on break and glad that it means a year is done and glad that I have a beautiful family strewn across the country that I get to see from time to time.

I hope you all had the beautiful gift of a wonderful family Christmas, or at least one with loved ones nearby.

Merry Christmas and I love you all!
